1. The Green Spaces

Prestwich is full of parks intermixed with lots of lively little playgrounds. On one side, there is Heaton Park (the largest municipal park in Europe!), on the other is Prestwich Clough with its miles of woodland and bike tracks, and in the middle is St Mary's Park with its playground, tennis and basketball courts. There's also some fab little playgrounds such as those around Heaton Street and St Josephs, as well as the one at the end of the ever-popular Gardner Road.

2. Whittaker Lane
It's like a village itself with everything you need from takeaways and hairdressers to doggy day care, a doctors' surgery and even a holistic chemist. Its surrounded by some gorgeous terraced streets, and at its Eastern end is Heaton Park and the tram stop.

3. Great Stock for First Time Buyers

Despite its growing popularity it's still got plenty of great stock for first time buyers. There are some great sized 1930s ex Council properties off Heywood Road on land that was originally donated by affluent land owners for ex war service men, and these come with great gardens. There's also still a good range of Victorian terraces up for grabs if you are quick.

4.The Conservation Areas
Prestwich is home to two beautiful conservation areas including Poppythorn to the north including the stunning Guest Road (previously home to Guy Garvey!), Glebelands's Road and Poppythorn Road itself.

Secondly is St Mary's Park with St Mary's Church, Prestwich Clough and a fine selection of tree lined streets with some substantial properties with large grounds.

5. Food Glorious Food
When it comes to food, Prestwich is hotting up. It serves up a whole host of supermarkets in its catchment including M & S Food, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and Sainsbury's all within a stone's throw!

But if it's eating out that's your passion the choice is plenty from Armstrong's ‘Home of the Jumbo Cod' chippy on Bury Old Road, to Prestwich Village's Cuckoo, All The Shapes, Grape and Grain, Basil and Lily. Crooked Man, Croma, The Orange Tree, Pres , Solita and a whole host of cafes and pubs to boot.
